Open Grants 2016-2022

The Open Grants programme supported the arts and cultural sector in their work with children and young people. Between June 2016 and June 2022 our trustees awarded £1,538,565 supporting 139 projects – 86 main grants (just over £1.4m) and 53 small grants (just under £75k).

Funded projects provided innovative, high-quality arts engagement with and for children and young people, and putting their voices at the heart. Applicants were asked make proposals that would:

  • Evidence the power of arts and creativity and their transformative power for children and young people
  • Promote children’s development through imaginative thinking
  • Promote equality of access to the arts and creative experiences
  • Encourage innovative thinking and influence good practice
  • Ensure effective evaluation of projects to promote sharing and learning
